“Why Google is spending more than the Daily Budget?”

This question about budgeting comes up all the time.

Many business owners freak out when they see that Google is spending more than the daily budget they set in the first place.

Say for example, your daily budget is $25 but Google has been spending $35 per day lately. This happens because Google assumes that can get you more Conversions/Clicks/Profit these days. The algo knows that there are good days and bad days in Google ads.

It is aware that there are 1 day there are plenty of searches for your product/service and there are days that those searches are scarce.

The good days the algo is pushing to get you more impressions, more clicks, more conversions. The bad days the algo takes it easy and uses a fraction of your daily budget.

Here’s how the maths work out:

If your budget is set at $25 but your campaign is spending $35 you’ll still going to be charged $25*30= $750 per month.

Your daily charges might be $25, over $25, or less than $25.

It wouldn’t be good if you expect to pay let’s say $1000 for advertising on Google and in the end you pay double the amount.

I have to say, budgeting is probably the most stressful topic on Google Ads and rightfully so (considering that the CPC for certain industries can be a couple of hundred bucks).
