Elementary School Q&A on Landing Pages

I’m about to tell you a fun hobby every media buyer should have.

This is haunting forums, subreddits and Facebook groups.

You keep seeing the same mistakes over and over and over again.

1 of my favourite is “I searched my ads in Google and they didn’t show up”. Why is that?

(Please don’t go and search for your Google ads, there’s a million reasons you Google doesn’t show your ads.)

Here’s the tricky part about online advertising including Google and Meta:

They give the average user the impression that they can run a campaign successfully.

Over the years they have simplified the interface and the way to set up a campaign, Smart Campaigns in Google is an example of this.

Now a business owner, let’s call him Joe Average, thinks if they can set up a campaign it means they can make it profitable.

And here come the question Joe Average asks in a FB Group:

“””

I’m running Google Ads and send the traffic to my website. Is it better to create a new landing page or send the prospects to my site?

“””
How do you find this question?

I’ll go first. I find it elementary. I believe this person is about to waste their maney without realising how ignorant they are.

If Joe Average doesn’t understand the concept of sending the traffic to page with a lead form, I can’t believe that they’re able to optimise their campaign.

Most likely Average Joe is going to lose thousands of dollars on Ads and then go around in forums accusing Google of being a scam.

It’s normal not to have the time or the luxury to learn Google Ads.

It takes time and… it’s a lot about trial and error.

But at the same time it’s wise to understand the basics. You’ll tell whether the Ads Manager you hired does their job or not.

For this reason, you need to find resources for teaching yourself Google Ads.
