Let’s talk about Instagram and social media in general.
I created my Insta account back in 2016. I just wanted to see how this platform works and what’s different compared to other social media including Facebook and Twitter (or X, or TwitterX).
Obviously Instagram is a more visual platform with cool images and stories showing the best version of its users’ lifestyle.
I never had the urge to post personal or lifestyle images.
Call me old school but I believe the private life of someone should be… private.
Why I kept my account so long then?
I used is as a form of getting business, I was sending cold messages to business owners to run Insta or Facebook ads for their business.
Don’t get me wrong. I was getting leads here and there and managed to convert a couple of them into clients. But lately I changed my methods of lead generation.
Lead generation is interesting; there are ways considered Free and Paid.
Social media for example, is considered free. All you need to post engaging content and speak to those who interact.
But it’s not free if you think about it.
You spend your valuable time creating content replying to comments and talking to prospects. And as you already might know time equals maney. Meaning that free traffic ain’t free by any means.
Plus, you gotta deal with nonsense, and there’s a ton of it on Insta and other social.
Why I deleted my account?
I decided to stick to paid traffic. I have a grasp of it and I enjoy running ads way more than posting on Insta and social (and of course way more than dealing with stoopid comments under your posts).
How’s life post-Insta?
Life’s better. Less Insta time means more valuable time for other key tasks such as writing my daily email and building my email list.
Now, I’m not aware of your situation. Maybe your business gets good traffic from Insta or maybe not. Maybe you win customers from Insta, maybe not.
You know better about your situation and whether Insta makes senses to your life and business.
But if you’re into Paid traffic and willing to grow your business by investing in ads…
