Is spending $5 a day even worth it? (Newbie)

I got on an interesting call the other day.

Now calls aren’t my thing, I do them when they are necessary (don’t hate them but don’t like them anyway).

It was a prospect who works in a home industry I’m into.

The conversation inevitably went to Google Ads.

He wanted to give Google ads a shot but his budget was small.

-Him: Is spending $5 a day even worth it?

-Me: Here’s the thing:

Many Google Ads Managers would suggest it’s NOT even worth considering it. But imo you have to be realistic with your budget and the goals you set.

You can’t expect this $5 a day to flood your business with clients.

But at the same time, you expect you’ll get back a tiny bit of business out of your $150 monthly budget (if my maths is correct).

To get the most out of my Ad spend in this case I would target High Funnel keywords.

This is a more realistic approach since you target traffic that doesn’t cost as much as highly targeted traffic including Exact Match keywords.

You avoid fierce competition and you can get a slice of the market’s cake.

But let’s be honest the quality of the traffic isn’t going to be the best you’ve ever come across.

Now this a common mistake many business owners make with online advertising and marketing:

They expect the leads they captured to convert and they get disappointed.

That might be the case in the past, but consumers nowadays do their research, compare prices and look for reassurance before going ahead with a purchase. And certain services have a longer lifecycle than others – you gotta be patient with conversions.

Meaning you got better chances of converting your leads when staying in touch frequently.

Email marketing, What’s Up or Telegram Groups are methods to keep in touch.

It’s about building the relationship first and establishing mutual trust.
